Attak – Rustie featuring Danny Brown
Beginning to dig the mix of the more hardcore electronic dance styles with inventive rap. In this case Scots production phenom Rustie lets the amazing Danny Brown (fresh out of Detroit, MI) take the mic.
Rustie’s beats are completely in step with much of what’s going on in fine arts. A mass musical brawl of all the voguish styles. Bit of this bit of that, overlayed with much more of the other. Collaged and kaleidoscoped. This one is an 808 based (bassed!) cut that sounds like it was recorded in the electronics aisle of Toys R Us, which is no bad thing at all.
Attak featured the motormouthin’ of Danny Brown who comes on like an American Dizzie – visually he’s, er, dope; more than a little Buggin’ Out (you know, that guy from Do The Right Thing who starts the pizza boycott) and suitably potty mouthed.
Anyway, watch out. This is coming. Dig the lyric video spin cycle too, which I believe) comes via Peter Marsden of GSA allumni collective Lucky Me.
